Cement is excited to announce its inaugural exhibition of mentees and studio artists at BN9 Studio. The exhibition marks the first year of being in our physical home in Newhaven.

The exhibition features the work of the following artist mentees:

Caro Clarke, Sam Jacobs, Vicky Neave McAlpine, Pinar Engincan, Martin Cody, Steve Bannatyne, Sarah Barker Brown, Gemma Hughes, Elspeth Penfold and Charmaine Evans.

Studio Artists: Vicki Painting, Alison Hand, The Baron Gilvan, Isobel Smith and Julian Wild.

During the cement exhibition at BN9 studio we have several exciting events, demonstrations and workshops so please book via the links below. Most of these take place in the exhibition with the exception of the studio tour and talks.

Saturday 4th April: Family Easter clay figure making. At The Sidings (Abyss) next to BN9 studio. This is a free drop in event- times tbc

Sunday demos: During the exhibition we will be sharing art making processes from our courses. With a sculpture casting demonstration on Sunday 5th April 11am – 12pm and a painting demonstration on Sunday 19th April 11am – 12pm. Location BN9 studio, Marine workshops. Drop in. No booking required.

Let’s Walk to three corners An offering, a walk for artists and visitors to Cement Art School. An invitation by artist Elspeth Penfold to walk with her.  This walk accompanies the works, Home Altar and Lamb which are shown by Elspeth in the gallery space at BN9 studio. Cement studio tour, artist talks from studio artists and drinks on Friday 24th April 5.30-8pm at Unit 10, Quarry Road Industrial Estate, Newhaven, BN9 9DD. This event is free.
