This exciting course expands the idea of what painting can be, and how it can move towards three dimensions. Expanded painting moves out beyond the easel and the physical limitations of the image to investigate how far painting can go in spatial dimensions. This course includes different ways to extend what painting can be, including deconstructing the canvas, site specific painting, sculptural techniques, and combining painting with objects to create installations. You will explore relationships between the image and the object, between two and three dimensions, and between the real and the imaginary, developing a piece/s that relates to your individual concerns and subject matter. Saturday and Sunday 25th and 26th of October. 10.30 - 4.30pm
Level: all levels Tutor: Alison Hand
