A Saturday course exploring different ways of using oil paint, working on several small paintings over the day using various techniques. A great course if you want an introduction to working in oil, or if you are more experienced and want to expand the vocabulary of how you use oil. We will work on board and canvas, to see how oil works with softer and harder surfaces, and will use oil mediums such as linseed and impasto medium. Working towards finding your own artistic language in oil, we will discuss ideas and aims individually over the day.
This is a great introduction to Cement courses and would be a good segue into to weekend courses or Open Access Painting and Drawing. 10.30-4.30

What to bring:
We will provide some materials including a small canvas and board surface, and oil painting mediums. Some materials also available to buy from the studio. We recommend to bring oil paints, brushes, and some source material such as images / photographs / sketches / previous work, to generate ideas.
