This Friday daytime class explores both freehand spray painting and making and using stencils. Spray painting is a fantastic process which can be both immediate and gestural, referencing graffiti, or delicate and translucent, using stencils to control the action. Starting the day with a demonstration of spray painting methods, and how to simplify an image in order to create a stencil, we will then practically explore different ways of using spray paint, along with making our own stencils and using them, leading to a finished piece. Friday 16th January 10.00 - 4.00pm.
Level: All Levels Tutor: Alison Hand
Materials provided - spray paints, tracing paper, surfaces. We recommend bringing some images / photographs / source material which interests you to work with to generate imagery.
